Default Adaptive Cruise Control - Add On

Hello. I am the proud new owner of a 2019 X60 T6 R-Design (VIN LYVA22RM3KB236115) w/ 48000 miles. I do not believe I have the adaptive cruise control add-on (do not see it on the dash when I select cruise control, or hit it again) and would really like this feature (I had it in my 2017 Honda Accord Touring and miss it already as we frequently take long trips). And, I was wondering if this is something that can be added on now, and what the expected cost might be. I have also sent a message to my dealer (Smythe Volvo in Summit, NJ) and awaiting their response. Thank you in advance.

Default Add On Adaptive Cruise

I hate to be the one to break it to you, although looking at your vin looks like you got a total base R-Design. I always thought this was stupid of Volvo to make, it's basically a base model Volvo with "Sport" seats that just wear out badly. There are 4 big packages to add onto the R Design to make it worth it and none can be added after the fact unfortunately. I'd look into if you can maybe return if possible? Couple thousand more you can get a really sweet car!

It’s fine. I like it a lot and it’s super clean, like brand new. Has a great sound with the Harmon Kardon speakers as well. Got her at a great price and still CPO until January. All is good.

I was told that all I need to do is replace the hydraulic braking unit and get the appropriate version of IntelliSafe Assist software and I’ll have ACC, Pilot Assist gen 2, and Distance Alert. I seem to have all the other components necessary for the conversion. See here for details: https://accessories.volvocars.com/en...CC-516550/2019

I only need to find a dealer that’ll do the work now.

I also want to add Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) to my 2020 XC60 Momentum and here is what I've learned.

1) Your car must have a special ABS module. In my case, the Momentum does not come standard with the correct ABS module, but many Inscription and R models already have it. Cost of the module not including labor is $200 to $1200, depending on whether the part is used or brand new. You can find the correct part number for your year and model at any Volvo parts site.

2) A software update is necessary to activate ACC. VIDA is the official OEM source for that software but there is also an independent software source called SPAYceTech OrBit.. (Home (spaycetech.com)

That's all that's needed. I'm a DIYer so I'm very tempted to try this conversion using the OrBit software and a used part but I'm waiting for others to post more about their experiences. Adding adaptive cruise control | SwedeSpeed - Volvo Performance Forum

Keep us posted on your progress.
