Advice buying 2010 or 2011?
I found a good deal on a 2010 FWD xc60 and before I pull the trigger I was wondering if there are any issues with the year-model. Is the 2011 better?? The same dealer has a 2011 in excellent shape, but outside of my budget. Any replies will be very helpful.
Also, both cars have around 80k miles. Any significant services coming??
Thanks!

Reliability they are pretty equal. Some burned oil. Leaking vacuum pumps. Failed PCV breather boxes. Been seeing a few with locked up idlers or tensioners. Compressors fail a lot too.
90k service is due soon, which is just an oil change, rotation and cabin filter. Spark plugs should have been done already at 75k.

See if you can find the maintenance history - if the car was dealer serviced Carfax will show it. If the car is at a dealer you can also ask if they completed a "100 point" inspection (most reputable shops do this) - the question is whether all servicing is up to date and if there are any known issues. Its impossible to predict what will fail in the future, that's really a general reliability question for the make/model/year.
Aside from the oil burners, I would not say very poor reliability. I work on them all day, so I can name 5 or 6 common problems with any Volvo model.
The S80 and XC70 from 2007 on are the same platform, so same problems.
