aftermarket navigation
Hello!!
Just purchased a used 2011 XC60 rdesign. I love it. I am wondering if anyone has had any experience with an aftermarket navigation? My volvo doesn't have the rti cable I'm told so they said it can't be done. I am feeling a bit foolish
because when I was looking at the car, the salesman said that it would be no problem to add navigation. I should have done more research.
any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated!!
Thanks,
Renee

Volvo and Garmin offer a solution that might work for you. I wanted an in-dash nav system but it would have been cost prohibitive. My dealer installed a Garmin unit where the factory nav would go. It works well for me.
I agree with previous poster not because of the cost but because Volvo navigation is horrible. I have a 2012 S60 Volvo and I can tell you that the navigation feature is the worst I've ever had. I've stopped using it and now only use my Iphone GPS. The Volvo navigation has lead me on wild goose chases multiple times. We are not talking about getting you to a place the long way. I'm talking about making you get off the highway, go all over back roads not even paralleling the highway, to get back on the highway when there weren't any traffic issues. I've even been testing it when I know the way and it makes you want to take exits to get on another road that doesn't even lead to where you are going! It just doesn't work and Volvo is not putting in their energy into it. It's too bad. I love the car but it will make me think twice about getting another one.
