Bad MAF?
Hi, ive been having problems with my XC60 D4/D3 2.0 120kw for some time with hesitation/jerking usually when pulling away from junctions and when changing from 1st-2nd gear. Ive just unplugged my MAF sensor and the car ran exactly the same if not a little better. I then plugged a code reader in and it came up with a MAF code, but im guessing thats because i unplugged it. I then plugged MAF back in and erased the code and took it for a drive then plugged code reader back in and there were no codes.
Now am i right in thinking that i should have noticed a vast difference when driving it with the MAF unplugged? but if it drove the same as when plugged in then the MAF is faulty?
But if it is faulty then why did it show no fault codes when the MAF was plugged back in and had been driven for 5 minutes?
Cheers for any advice.

This symptom is often associated with a plugged crankcase breather system that puts crankcase pressure in the intake system, confusing the computer. A quick diagnosis on this is to pull the dipstick up a bit while the engine is running and warm. If you see a steady stream of gasses, then the system is plugged.
I have an S80 2.5T right now that we are currently servicing. When you service the crankcase system, remove the throttle body and clean both sides, too.
