Default Black center screen aaos

The center screen on my 2023 XC60 is black. It won't turn on, even after rebooting with the home button. I can control the climate and radio with the voice control, but the screen remains black. The vehicle runs and drives fine. This has been going on for several days. I have a service appointment for next Monday. I was just wondering if anyone else has had this issue, and how it was resolved.

Did you try the button on the right side of the steering wheel which has 2 overlapping boxes.... press it to cycle thru the options which will turn center screen on/off

I believe the button you mention only cycles the driver's display. My issue is with the display in the center of the dashboard.

Have you tried the normal reset by holding the home button down until “Volvo” appears? If so the next step would be to do a factory reset by going into the system menu. If you do that everything will be wiped clean like profiles and other programmed settings. But it could fix the problem. And it isn’t that hard to re-establish all that you lost.

If you read my original post, you will see I did try the home button reboot. The screen stays black. Nothing at all appears on the screen, it's as though the screen has no power. I can tell the system reboots because the radio shuts off. I can control HVAC with voice, and use google maps in the drivers display with voice, but the screen is black, nothing shows on it. No camera, and ability to deactivate the warning and auto‐brake when reversing functions is unreachable. The dealer gets it Monday, so I'll know more then. I was just wondering if this has happened to anyone else. So far no one has said it has, here, and on other forums.

Sorry I see now that you did do a reboot. My brain is fog now cause I just woke up…lol…In your reply I noticed you didn’t say anything about a factory reset. Do you plan to or just wait until Monday when dealership gets it? I had a similar problem when I tried to connect my new iPhone. Believe it or not my screen went crazy and then blank, just because of trying to connect my new phone. I didn’t have all the problems you have encountered, but I hit then non SOS button in the car and the tech ran me through a factory reset and it fixed everything.

You need to access the menu to do a factory reset, and no screen means no access to anything.

Again my apologies for not reading your post correctly. I wish you best of luck in getting this problem solved.

Update: It ended up being a faulty display screen. Replaced it in one day, and all is well. I have to say I'm very happy with the service at my Volvo dealer.

I have twice returned my 2023 XC60 to the dealer due to a black center console screen. The day after I got my car home, poof, the screen went black again. The dealer said this is a known software issue and Volvo should have an update sometime in January, but this is a total pain. There's only so much you can do by voice control and I really miss my maps....and cameras. I really miss buttons.
