I really miss a compass in my XC60. I have always had them in my other cars and didn't realize how much I used them until I didn't have one. I can use the Google Directional indicator and compute direction with it, but it is a cumbersome way to do it. So I want to purchase just a digital compass for the car to mount in an inconspicuous place. i have checked Amazon and other sellers but just can't find the "right one". Most need to be plugged into an USB outlet, which I don't want. Are there battery operated ones? But maybe an aftermarket compass would be useless anyway because of the magnetic interference and not being factory calibrated? Any suggestions? Thanks!

 

 

Lack of a compas was a big complaint of mine, but now I can see one on the google map. Upper left, one of the little circles. I don't know if this is new or if I just noticed it.

 

Funny. I recently bought a XC60 and saw that the window lists "compass in rear view mirror" as part of the $1,700 Premium Package. And I was thinking to myself, "With all the electronic navigation options, why do I need a compass in the rear view mirror?"
