Default Door Window Control and AC Issues

I have a 2013 XC60 3.2l FWD. I currently have 130k miles on it and have been doing most of the maintenance myself.

A couple of years ago, my AC was not working well. I did some research and learned about the outside temperature detector being located in the drivers side view mirror. I ordered a new ambient detector. When I took the sideview mirror apart to install, I discovered that the wire to the detector had been cut, probably from my hitting the sideview mirror backing out of the garage. So I installed the new detector anyway connecting the wires. My AC worked again after that.

This past year, I have been having issues with my AC again. It starts to cool after about 10 minutes. Almost as though something just "clicks" and it works. However, I've also been having issue with the window control panel not working. Sometimes, when it's really hot and I first get in my car, the window controls don't work. The window lock button is off. I can't roll down my windows to air out the hot air. It has even stopped working on me at inopportune times such as at the car wash and I need to roll my window up before entering. It eventually turns back on.

Any suggestions on what to try? I'm thinking either the control box in the door or another electrical issue. Just thought I would throw it out there before I spend money taking it to a shop.

A common failure on the 3.2 ac compressor is the variable displacement valve. google "volvo ac compressor control valve"

Scanning with VIDA or a compatible scan tool might give some clues for that and your window problem. You can use VIDA to test all the window/ DDM functions when your switch is not working. And check the signal to the AC valve -
