Electrical information
I have the XC60 Recharge Extended Range and the charge times I'm seeing are NOT what I was told / what's posted on Volvo website. Is anyone else having this issue? Also, its drawing when I have it plugged into a 50A crkt it's drawing ~0.6-1.7A at 240V when the battery is already full. What's going on?!?
Attached is a spreadsheet I threw together after finding some charging time estimates based on voltage and Amperage from Volvo's website for the 2022 XC60 plugin "Late edition" (which I assume is what I have with the bigger battery as opposed to the early edition). https://www.volvocars.com/en-ca/supp.../charging-time
(for reference the "early" version does have shorter charging times, https://www.volvocars.com/en-ca/support/manuals/xc60-recharge-plug-in-hybrid/2021w22/starting-and-driving/charging-hybrid-battery/charging-current ).
I measured 11.7 A and 121V being delivered consistently from the panel. When I stopped charging there was 0.0 A on the circuit so the only load on there is the car. Based on Volvo's information this should mean it's an 11.2 hr full charge, whereas Im experiencing ~15.5-17.5 or so. This would mean a loss, or more likely a downregulation of ~30-40% somewhere between the panel and the car. (I tried to measure at the plug but the charger didn't like the outlet being pulled out of the wall, maybe some of that is coming from the wires in the house, but certainly not the majority, especially since it's consistent to what we saw at Volvo and I've seen elsewhere.)
