Default Which engine for reliability?

Hey everyone. I owned an 2010 XC70 3.2 before for a short time because we needed to get a 7 seater. I made a mistake and bought a Pajero. Long story is I need an XC90, I travel 90k kms a year and have looked at all figures and looks really good. My budget is around 8k so looking at a 2003 ish petrol, highly doubt I'll find a diesel with this price range.

Really liking the 2.9 TI6, how are these for dependability?
I know the 3.2 was great, just will cost me $10 a week extra fuel than the Pajero and XC70.

Main focus is, which has not had any problems going the distance. E.g. 4 hours worth travel to work a day
