Is there a way to disable or deactivate the foot activation for the power liftgate? I just got my 2022 xc60 recharge extended. I park it in my garage, but it has a low ceiling. The other day I walked behind the car in a tight space, my feet accidentally triggered the liftgate to open, I caught it with my hands just before the liftgate smashed into a light bulb.
I don't know how to disable the foot control, but you can change how far up the cargo door lifts when opening. You could set it to open lower than the light.
Unfortunately, the tailgate can still accidentally get triggered and hit my garage door. I called my dealer's service dept, the person told me basically there is no way. Even if you disconnect the sensor somehow, all sorts of lights and alerts will go off in the dash.
Interesting. I can't seem to ever get mine to work. I've tried every possible motion where the manual says to and it works <10% of the time. It looks like there is an option to lock the tailgate.
