Gas Spurting Out When Being Filled!
This is a huge safety problem! Our 2018 XC60 has had gas spurting out on three occasions when being filled--and not just a little. The dealer has checked the fuel system, changed out the fuel filler neck--and it just happened again. The people at the gas station each time pretty much freaked out, roped off and shut down the pump, This occurred at three different gas stations, so clearly not the pump's fault.
The car is currently at the dealer, we will not drive it until convinced it is safe. A simple spark at the gas pump could cause the car to explode, as well as causing fire to go into the gas pump hose & down to the gas station fuel tank.
We have heard that in our area there are several other Volvo XC's (both XC60 & XC90) the dealers are aware of having this same problem, so certainly Volvo knows as well. People have been told to only fill their tanks 3/4--well, that is exactly where the most recent episode occured, The pump shut off at 3/4 full, and when my wife took out the hose from the car gas spurted out all over the place.
A main reason we bought a Volvo was based on the safety reputation. Nothing could be more of a huge safety hazard than this, not just to someone filling up the tank but to anyone nearby. Who else has had this problem?
Volvo--we know you monitor these forums. You are most likely aware of our specific car's issue. Answer, please.

I had a similar problem with an 2018 XC60 T8. the dealer didn't identify any technical problem. the next time I filled up I pushed the nozzle as far into the gas filler opening as it would go and the problem hasn't occurred since.
