Hi Volvo Community,

I am considering purchasing a 2014 XC60 T6 that has 55k miles on it.
The carfax looks clean for the vehicle, but I noticed that when it had a 40k maintenance inspection done at the dealer last November, the computer was reprogrammed. I don't recall every seeing a "computer reprogrammed" line on a carfax and it made me wonder if there were known ECU issues with this particular year/make/model.

After doing some research on this site, I noticed that some people have done Volvo approved ECU upgrades on their XC60 T6s.

Since this vehicle is being sold by a non-Volvo dealer, I don't think they will know, and don't see how calling out the fact the car may have a >$1k tune will help my negotiation position.

Is there a way to determine if a car has had the polestar tune performed without talking to the original owner?

It's probably just the free software update that we do with services. Nothing to worry about.

As for whether it has Polestar, you might be able to contact Volvo or Polestar with the VIN.
