Default New T8 hybrid XC60 12V battery fault

I got a new XC60 last Monday, and really enjoyed it for the first week. It's a hybrid T8, really a beautiful car and a big step up (in both price and luxury) from our Volkswagen.

But today the car suddenly gave two warnings - a turtle "reduced performance" warning that limited standing start acceleration to a crawl, and a "12 V battery charging fault" warning. The car was driveable once the petrol engine kicked in so we took it home and called the roadside assist. That guy took one look under the hood and decided it was too complicated for him. So I called the dealer and they'll book us in for a service.

It seems like the battery might be faulty? It's plugged in at the moment but not charging. After I plugged it in, the dash showed that the car would be fully charged in 13 hours. then a few minutes later it stopped charging. The indicator on the dash that normally shows range on battery is showing ---.

My question is: has anyone else experienced this? I've driven about 600km this week without any problems. I'm hoping it's readily fixed.

Hope it was an easy fix. The thermostat appears to be 1 issue on the 2019 and older T8s....they fix it by installing a T valve.....Just had that done last month....you will some of the common issues on Swedespeed.

Not fixed yet, apparently they found a problem with the battery and have asked Volvo (I assume this means some central technical service) for advice. Still waiting to hear what that means for us.

Just got confirmation that they are going to replace the battery, apparently it's faulty and since it's brand new Volvo in Sweden decided it was better to replace than attempt a repair. Bit of a pain but they've given us a loan XC60 (T5) until we get ours back.

Not that the T5 is bland....but you will def appreciate the T8 more when it comes back. I had a S60 with the T5 for a day and it was fairly peppy...then again it is 1000 lb lighter, lol On the bright side, they found the issue and fixing it.

Just got my car back. I've owned it for 6 weeks and it's been in the shop for more than 4! It has a brand new battery in it now, seems to be charging well now so hoping we don't need to visit the mechanic again until the 12 month service. It does run a lot better than the T5 although that was a pretty nice car as well.

Nice! Unfortunately someone drove into the car while it was parked on the street, doing $8k worth of damage (and then drove away without leaving a note). So it's back in the shop again. Seriously!
