Talking New Volvo Owner With Some Questions

Hello All!!

I just purchased my first ever Swedish car this past Monday.... a 2017 XC60 T6 AWD.

So far so good. I'm used to driving German cars so I'm still getting used to the controls and features.

I did notice that my cigarette lighter power outlets don't appear to work. Is this a setting I need to turn on? I tested the same device in my other cars and confirmed the device works in them so it's not the device.
Also, I notice that when I tune into Sirius Radio, it only scrolls through maybe 5 channels...if I want a certain station I had to actually input the channel number. Is there a way to be able to scroll through all channels at once?
Thanks in advance!

consult your owners manual to determine if there are any controls, but more likely you should check for blown fuse. These cars have multiple fuse boxes so again the manual will be the place to research where the fuse is (you can also find owner manuals online)

Thanks for the reply. I figured out the Sirius satellite channel dilemna by messing with the controls and settings.
I tried checking my oil level and cannot. I looked under the hood and there doesn't appear to be a dipstick. When I try to check it electronically via the dash, it's grayed out. Any ideas?

You probably have a blown fuse in the accessory port. I believe that the engine uses an electronic oil sensor in lieu of an old style dipstick.

We purchased a 2018 Volvo sc60 as well. Good luck. We are having all sorts of issues—all to do with the computer.

I also have a recently purchased 2018 SC60 T6. No issues at all. A new computer download is available now for no cost. What issues are you having?

Well I can’t seem to get the AT&T data plan to work. It wasn’t until I had Volvo on the phone that I even knew it was available. However, it still will not show me which updates are available. It says there are, but when I go into see what they are, nothing there.

Ok, so I figured out how to read the oil level digitally. Now I just need to figure out why the 12 volts don't work.

Could you please share the procedure for checking the oil? I can't figure it out my manual doesn't list it.

With the engine off, turn on the electronics by pressing the start button.....make sure the engine doesn't turn on. Then on the left stalk, scroll to oil and select ok.

Where is it available for download? Volvo says you only get from a dealer with service. Personally, I'd rather not step into a dealership. Like ever. So would be very happy to learn how you can do it without dealing with dealers and all their BS.
