Default Potential new Volvo buyer

Hello all, I’m currently shopping for a nice roomy wagon/suv/crossover and I found a nice gently used 2011 XC60 3.2L I6. I just have a few questions regarding the car itself.

1. Are there any specific problems to the 2011 model itself? On a previous post someone linked a video where the person overviewed the S60, XC60 and XC70 from 2008 to 2016, where the guy went in-depth but I was wondering is there’s anything specific?

2. In terms of parts, since Volvo does cost a bit more to repair and the parts and labor require the blood of a virgin and your first born child what are some generally reliable brands from RockAuto?

3. What are some general tips on taking car of a Volvo? I’m coming from a **** box 04 Elantra.

4. Anyone know where I can get a shop manual or like a in-depth repair manual for Volvos?

Thank you all for any help and advice c:

I found this XC60 specific video before I bought my used 2012 with the 3.2. (it says other models, but it's really only the XC60) I have not encountered any of these problems after 2 months of ownership and daily driving.

Parts costs are no more or less than most cars. I have not found a repair manual yet. Rock Auto does have many parts.

I thoroughly enjoy driving this car every day. It's plenty fast and quite and smooth. Gas mileage is better than reported. I'm getting about 23mpg around town and almost 28mpg on the highway

By searching on this forum, my guess is that you'll find info. to answer some of your questions. Once your find a specific vehicle, my advice is to (a) run the VIN to check for recalls, (b) verify that the recalls have been addressed and (c) have the vehicle checked out by a qualified mechanic prior to purchase.

Regarding recalls for the 2011 XC60, here's what I found:

https://www.dealerrater.com/recalls/...0as%20intended.

ive seen this video and I’ve been using it as reference, great in depth video that covers most issues with rough part and labor estimates.

The car I wanted got sold but there is another 2010 XC60 T6 one but it has to accidents to it’s name but no airbags or towing. I’ve test drove a T6 and it felt amazing, the turbo had a great feel to it and overall the driving experience was nice, a bit bigger compared to something like an RDX/MDX but still amazing.

Part wise, should I stick with good reviewed ones from RockAuto and try and source some from European manufacturers and avoid Asian ones?
