Default Re code Mk1 instrument panel

Hi guys, please can someone point me in the right direction on how to re code an instrument cluster. My 2012 XC60 is faulty so purchased one with exact same part and code numbers from a same year S60 with identical specs. Most things work except fuel etc but the garage told me it would need to be re coded for another car. What do I need to connect with please and where can I get the software?
Thanks in advance guys

Many used Volvo modules can't be "recoded" (using Volvo supplied software) to work in a different car. If it's possible for your used instrument cluster - you would need to use the Volvo factory software, VIDA, and a DICE or other compatible interface. In the US we can purchase a VIDA subscription as individuals - Is that possible across the pond in GB or is that limited to Volvo dealers?

An alternative to that is an aftermarket company such as xemodex. xemodex is in Canada and ships internationally - but perhaps there is someone who offers module repair/program transfer in your part of the world.
