Default Refilling coolant

Just replaced a plastic coolant retrieval hose in 2015 XC60. In a process I had to drain most of my coolant. Question, when I refill coolant, do I just add it to the coolant overflow tank? I filled it to max and ran a vehicle for a little to warm it up, and while I hear the fan working pretty hard I don't see any drop of the coolant from that tank. My understanding is that the pressurized cooling systems do their own air burping. Am I missing anything?

burping depends on car model - for most start by adding through the overflow tank - then you can "massage" the upper radiator hose to push out any air. I do know on my S40 1.9T there is an bleed screw to help release air that can get trapped - I suspect there's probably one on your engine as well but you may need to google around/check youtube to see how to access.
