Default Service pricing issue on Aux Battery

Hello, my local Volvo servicing department informed my son that he needs a new Aux Battery for his 2018 XC60 bc it has a “start/stop service” light on. They gave him a price of $3,000. After some research, I found this OEM battery for $119 online. Why such an outrageous price? Has anyone else had experience with this part/install? Also, does this battery power the HUD speedometer as well?
Thanks!

I'd expect the cost to be closer to $350 parts and labor to replace the battery by a dealer. Did they miss a digit in the quote or did they note other issues which could have caused the aux battery to fail? I'd ask the dealer for a written quote to see what they are proposing to be done.

Thanks, I just talked to dealer again, and they said $600 (Battery is $150 and Labor is $450). I asked why so high labor and they said it required software to install battery right. I watched YouTube videos on replacing this aux battery and it needs a hard reset but no software. I feel like I'm being taken advantage of. Any ideas?

I saw another post where that person said they paid 350 - do you have another dealer in your area or a volvo friendly indy? some models do require a software reset of the BMS system - google around or check Youtube to see if there's a DIY procedure which can be done without a VIDA system (which is what a dealer would use).

$600 seem outrageous for a 12 volt battery - - - thats why they call them the stealer - - - -

I can understand the cost of the battery itself by checking Priceva. But the price for work that is 3 times more expensive than the part itself is already arrogant. It's not that difficult of a job.
