Default Software issue

I’ve looked for this in the forum but not located anything that’s of use so apologies if there is a thread I have missed. Has anyone tried to install for example puddle / door lights on an XC60 Momentum circa 2023. The cabling is in the door panel it just needs a light fitting connected. But unfortunately the light does not activate when the door is opened and I am reliable informed it’s a software issue. It needs some additional software from Volvo to make it work and other stuff I may wish to install. What I’m struggling to find is information needed to help my indi garage request it from Volvo. He has hit a brick wall so far. I did contact Volvo direct but they never got back to me. Any help would be appreciated. I’m a bit disappointed in my latest XC60 as lots of the features I had on previous Volvos are not fitted to the Momentum. I should have bought an Inscription but stupidly didn’t do enough research. Please help if you can. 🙏🙏🙏

A software issue can arise for many reasons, from minor glitches to major system conflicts, but it usually shows up when a program stops behaving as expected. These problems may be caused by outdated versions, corrupted files, incompatible updates, or even background processes interfering with normal operations.

Modern vehicles like the Volvo XC60 depend a lot on software systems, so sometimes small glitches can happen if the system needs an update or if a feature requires activation from the dealer. In many cases, installing the latest firmware update or resetting the infotainment system can resolve these issues.

Before visiting the dealership, I usually search for troubleshooting information online. I recently found a helpful online verification guide that explains different digital checking systems and step-by-step processes.
