Software upgrades for stock 2017 T5 inscription
Is it worth getting the dealer to upgrade the software? Volvo web site seems to say that upgrades will include CarPlay, but it's non-specific and I'm pretty skeptical. Has anyone here done an upgrade recently? Any other essentials that should've been there in the first place, they may (or may not) include?

Are you still under warranty? You should talk to the service manager to see what if any service bulletins are associated with the software update - ie bug fixes, code tweaks or just new features. Then you should find out if the upgrade is covered under warranty.

We have a 2017 XC60. Just did the 20K service and they did a complimentary software upgrade. I asked about CarPlay and they said the 2017's aren't capable of that feature. It has to be the 2018 or newer. Just FWIW.
