Tailgate troubles - advice?
Hi,
We have a 2010 xc60 T6 that has been super reliable. The other day the car struggled to start after sitting in the heat (105) all day. I ended up getting it jumped but in the process noticed the + cable was loose. I think it was the asymmetric expansion of the terminal vs cable clamp. Ultimately the car started fine so I drove over to O'reilly had them check the batt and alt. Both fine.
Other than resetting the auto down/up state for the windows, everything has been AOK...except the tailgate. When running the tailgate opens and closes w/o issue. When not running, the tailgate opens about 6" and then closes. If the gate is full open while the car is off, it will close normally.
Any ideas here?

Sounds like a system reset to me. By the way, I had a tip about Volvo battery terminals as shown below:
* BATTERY TERMINALS
If you look at a battery post from the side, you will see that it is slightly cone-shaped. It is not a cylinder-shaped post. As such, you need to loosen the terminal clamping bolts a bit and take a small screwdriver and spread the posts apart a bit and wiggle them onto the post before tightening. I've seen cars come through where the terminal was tight, but you could lift it right off the battery post. This problem is caused by the person tightening the terminal but not securing it far enough down the post. The result - warning lights, fried alternator, power loss, electrical fire, etc.
