Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)

Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)
Just an FYI for my XC60 buddies!
Taking a day road trip yesterday in our 2014 XC60 and an hour into our trip the TPMS and specifically the tire pressure warning light came up on the instrument panel. Just over 6K miles on our Nitrogen filled Pirelli's 20" Titania alloy wheels. Found a tire dealer who pumped Nitrogen so had him check for a leak (no leaks) and fill all the tires to spec which is 35 psi in the manual and on the door!
Drove off and the indicator never went away! Called my VOLVO dealer and they said that when inflating use between 36 and 38 psi otherwise the TPMS will continue to register low pressure! Got back home and took it into my local guy. He inflated to 37 psi on each tire. Drove out of his parking lot and the indicator light was gone

Nice color on your XC.

Yes good info indeed. I get the TPMS light while driving on the autobahn here in Germany and the dealer told me it was either bad sensors or my driving on the autobahn. I barely have 8K on the odometer so I figured the latter of the two because I frequently hit 120 MPH but am only going 30-60 MPH minutes later upon exiting. I will try this adjustment to see if it helps and repost. Thanks again for the info.

So I adjusted my tire pressure to 35 PSI on all 4 wheels two days ago since that's the factory setting for the stock wheels I have mounted. Took a trip to Belgium for beer and waffles and probably 30 minutes into the trip the stupid TPMS came on. I'll call the dealership again and see if they have any updates to getting newer sensors in yet.

Waadman, my bad, I must have missed the original details where you said your factory setting was also 35. I was thinking your different tire size may call for a different factory setting.
Anyway, I have good news! Yesterday morning I adjusted all four to 37 PSI and it worked! Took a 3 hr road trip (ea way) and not one warning light the entire way! Thanks again for this post.

XC60 tyre pressure monitor
Hi Guys,
Have a late 2014 XC60 R-Design with 255/45/20 tyres in which the pressure monitor has come on. Started on Rear passenger side so inflated quickly to approx 41 PSI. Its still stayed on? Inflated all remaining tyres to approx this PSI but now all tyres are low on the dash display. Just looked on the inside of my car door and there is a PSI (39) for these size wheels. Should i inflate/ deflate to this exact PSI or is there a tolerance? I just want to get the light of my dash.
Any guidance will be appreciated.
Kind Regards,
Stevo

Try a call to your dealer?
Morning, just read your post. If you check my original post on my experience it states that the tolerance the dealer reflected was 1 to 3 psi over the posted door or manual specs. That said and what you have done seems in line but with no results!
IF you bought the XC60 new then take her in and let the dealership resolve the issue! If not then make a friendly call to your service guy at your dealership and ask for their input in proper psi for the tires you are running! Try that recommendation before you decide to visit the dealership!
By the way I haven't had my original issue since the post

I have a quick question. Just got a new 2015.5 XC60 but I can't find the TPMS in the settings. The menu option is just not there although the manual says that it should be there. I too have N2 filled tires, think that is standard these days. Does someone have the same issue, or could it be an option I don't have?
Thanks
