Default Volvo navigation system (Sensus)

Hi,
While on vacation in the US approximately three years ago I rented an SX60. My own car at that time was an S60. I was quite pleased with the rental vehicle, as was my wife and we agreed when it was time to get rid of the S60 we should go to the roomier SX model, particularly for the extra trunk space.
Last winter I ordered the SX60 and it was available in May (in Canada). Overall we are quite pleased with the car and in Jan drove south to the US for a few months. After crossing the border I purchased an AT&T data package thinking I would have a good navigation system.
Long story short, I ended up with Maps only, downloaded from Volvo and without spending $1,400.00 I need to continue to use Google maps as a navigation device (maps downloaded from Volvo is as basic as it gets). I feel kinda ripped off in this regard and wondered if others had a similar experience.
Much to surprise, when I asked at the dealership about the cost to have installed, they really didn’t know what I was asking about. I expect not many have bothered to have Sensus installed.
i look forward to hearing from other owners.

Wilf
