XC60 2012 power tailgate issue
Hello,
Volvo XC60, D5, 2012 with two power electric tailgate lifts
The tailgate itself won't open and close normally. Sometimes it opens fully without struggling, and sometimes it just stops after going a few centimeters up. Closing is always with struggling - a few centimeters down and then goes back up, like some obstacle is there.
The following DTCs are present and reappear after cleaning:
Has anyone faced a similar problem? Any tips on what to look at first?
Thank you!

My tailgate has been failing for over a year, but gradually getting worse. Opens with manual assistance, but much more diffito close. It just stops, so have to press the button and push down by small amounts. When it gets about 12" from closing, it then goes down more easily. Its almost become unusable.
Fault reports were, C112767, B108467, B118713 and B13C613. Sensor/Algorithm faults and Electrical/Circuit open faults.
I took it to volvo specialist a few weeks ago, and to fix it would be £1100. Each strut is £370+vat. Total rip off, which for a common fault, should be made cheaper by Volvo.
I tried sourcing manual strut replacements but none will fit.
I now have some automatic strut replacements on order for £192 inc. Ill see how they fit as my local volvo specialist (not volvo franchise) said he would fit them for me. He said it is a common fault he sees often but customers often dont have it done due to exorbitant cost of volvo parts. Cheers Volvo!
I am sourcing the struts from Struts depot. I'll update once received and hopefully fixed. IF they fit.
The struts ordered from Struts depot were cancelled due to issues. However I ordered very quickly and easily on ebay from vantastic-upgrades-uk for £160 for the pair. They arrived, looked identical with exact same serial numbers as originals. My local Volvo specialist Hereford fitted them quickly with no issues. Saved me a fortune and after 1 month are still working perfectly.

2015 T6 having similar issues. Sometimes the tailgate hatch works, most times not. Sometimes it will lift 6 inches and stop, then reclose, almost as if the gaskets are vacuum sealed shut. Curious what you find out. I'll be having the shop diagnose, but I'm assuming it's just an intermittent tailgate switch.
Symptoms:
Symptoms:
- External tailgate handle on hatch intermittently works, rarely operates as designed
- Hatch opens 6 inches and stops or recloses
- Key fob hatch button works as designed
- Internal dash button works as designed
- Seal seems exceptionally tight preventing hatch from opening
