XC60 Parts shortages
Has anyone else run into problems with getting XC60 parts recently. I had my wife take her 2012 XC60 in for front brake judder and a jumpy back up camera, bot under warranty.
The dealer called her and told her the camera issue was a wring harness and the front brakes needed new rotors ( no kidding). BUT both parts were on backorder with no delivery date. How can that be? A dealer without brake parts for one of there most popular cars!!
Two weeks later they called to say the parts were in. In meantime I called the Salesman that has sold me my Volvos for the last 25 years. He was surprised and called his factory rep. Not too much info other then there are issues with changing suppliers.
I went on the FCPeuro website where I get 90% of my parts and spoke with someone there about the lack of parts listings they have for common parts that wear out. He could not give me too much of an answer except that the model wasn't that old. XC60 first model year was 2010 so I would think thats old enough.
Luckily my wife's car is still under warranty but I bought my daughter an Xc60 2010 and now I wonder if I didn't make a huge mistake. No parts = big dealer repair bills!
Has anyone else seen this issue of parts shortages?

It happens with all car brands not just Volvo. If the part is on back order there isn't anything that the dealer can do. You bought a newer car they aren't expecting a ton of parts to go bad so when the entire nation needs a specific part, guess what Volvo warehouses run out of the parts. Aftermarket parts companies are completely different
