I am having trouble understanding the charge battery option on the menu (the option that will not use the electric battery while driving and apparently charge it instead). What settings elsewhere must be applied to the vehicle in order to use this function while highway driving (engine charging the battery). For example must the car be in D or B gear? Also, what driving mode should the car be in, (e. G. Gas only mode)? Bottom line, can't seem to find results in "Engine Charges Battery" mode.

 

If you turn that on, the gas engine should automatically run and the car will charge the battery.

 

Yeah, thanks. Doesn't really work. Will drive 100 miles and see about 1/5th charge. Must be something else, like the car must need to be in 'D' not 'B'. Not sur what is the actual expected charge, over what mileage, etc.. but does not seem to really work.
