04 XC70 Transmission Woes (whoas)
Have a 04 XC70 86k. This is our 6th. of 7th. Volvo. 122,145,1982 245GLT, 1985 245DL, 2000 XC70, 2004 XC70, 2006 XC70
About 3 weeks ago the transmission started to "flare" when shifting 2nd. to 3rd in D mode. Momentary hesitation and then a harsh grab. Same going down from 3rd to 2nd. Took it to dealer. He replaced fluid, verified most current software, ran adaption. Now it is harsher than before.
Dealer says that next move is to replace transmission! $4k+.
Help???????
At 53k the TCM transmission control module failed and was replaced. Some hard shifts associated with the failure.
About the same time the flaring started, I have to stand on the brakes, going about 40mph, because some fool coming the other way turned left in front of me. Don't know if that is related.
Any suggestions would be welcome!
