Default 98 V70 XC AWD Turbo Question

Just bought a 98 V70 AWD Turbo. I suspect a possible turbo performance issue. I don't hear any turbo whine or noise at all under all driving conditons. I have owned turdo vehicles in the past and cound allways feel the boost and hear the turbo spool up. My Question, Is this normal for volvo turbos? could it be a quiet turbo ? It dosn't drive like a turbo car I would expect to at least feel or hear something? I know the turbo is not siezed I can feel the intake plumbing/tube expand when revving the engine. Anyone know ?
Thanks

Usually you can hear it spool up and feel the boost good.

So is the volvo xc v70 turbo a soft or mild turbo? It has ok power but nothing exciting. I expect some get up and go with 190 hp turbo. Do you suggest to test with a boost guage? and do you know the boost specs for this car? Still no turbo noise under F/T conditions

You should feel it pull.
The normal range is about 5-7 LBS. You can try installing a boost guage and see what happens.

I have 2 XC70's kicking my butt feeling the same way you are talking about.
