I have searched this forum until my fingers bled and can find no symtpoms similar to this....

My 02 V70XC w/115K miles has started to be very sluggish to start . And when it does turn over the initial rev is bogged down.

Additionally I am smelling gas....big time.

I know it is only a matter of days before it will not start as the sluggishnish increases slightly each day. Today was about 10 seconds.

I am laid off and cannot affford a tow.

Any suggestions would be deeply appreciated.

 

Is the smell mainly from the passenger side middle of the car?
If so most likely the fuel pump nipple is cracked. There is an extended warranty which I believe is 10 years 150K miles.
