Default bevel gear leak

The output shaft seal on the bevel gear assembly on our 99 XC was leaking and the dealer installed a new seal. The new seal still leaks. Is it possible that there is a pressure build up in the case causing the seal to leak. If so, what would cause the build up?
If there is a bevel gear failure, could I just unhook the driveshaft?

Any responces would be greatly appreciated.

Default RE: bevel gear leak

It's very possible they didn't clean the bevel gear after the repair. I'm not sure wh you mention removing the driveshaft. If you did that the car wouldn't go anywhere! If your concerned the repair wasn't done correctly, it's best to take it back to the dealer.
