Exclamation Brake pedal position sensor

I replaced the brake pedal position sensor on my 2007 XC70 in order to address error codes 0147 and 0103, one of which was disabling cruise control. It worked for a while, but the error code started coming back intermittently and is now back every time at startup. I believe I've read somewhere that the new sensor needs to be calibrated? Does anyone know about this or have any other advice?

Vida does not mention calibration.

its possible the replacement sensor is wonky, but more likely I'd suspect a connectivity issue - bad ground, voltage issue (possibly caused by another device on the same circuit), bad connection, bad wiring... Next step is to review the wiring diagram to do some probing and to check to make sure the sensor is properly seated (ie is the o-ring and snap ring in place?)
