Default Brakes

I just had the front and rear pads and rotors changed on my '02 XC70. A question for those of you in the know. I believe that I was probably a little late in changing things this go around. In the future, could I just change the pads and not have to buy new rotors, or is this something that I am going to have to do every time? Thanks for all the help!

You should get atleast 3 to 4 Pad changes to a set of rotors.
They can be measured each time and compaired to the Min. Specs.

Make sure you don't go metal to metal or you will have to relpace them each time.

Thanks for the help. I do mostly city driving in our wonderful metropolis of Baltimore. Should I be measuring the pads every six months or so?

Just have the rotors Measured every time you need pads. And have the Pads inspected every oil change.

What I do when servicing these vehicles for brake inspection. I take a look at the pads, then look at the rotors if any scratchs, etc. If there was a complaint, I will go into further diagnosis. Also, if you see your rotor are very dished, its time to replace them. Thats just my opinion.
