hello,

my mate has a 04 xc70 2.4 diesel manual. He went out for his lunch yester day and the car went mad, it started flashing the brake warning lights, he pulled over then the wipers were on without being told to, then the washer jets switched on by themselves and emptied the bottle, even with the keys out of the ignition. He has taken it to a auto electrician and they said they havnmt a clue and the problem is with the main computer (im guesing the ecu) is it possible to just swap these?

any one got any suggestions??

Maybe the CEM and not just a swap they are programmed to the car.

 

thankyou for your reply, much appreciated, I have looked on a few other sites and simliar problems have occured from water getting into the central electrical module costing a grand to fix. If this is the problem can you or anyone offer any cost effective soloutions?
