...continuing the a/c saga.....
Hi! Tech....you answered my last post about "intermittent" cold air by telling me that it sounded like the compressor may need "re-shimming". I have since got the son out of it long enough (about 10 minutes-HA!), to at least raise the hood and do some messing with it. Let me explain, if I may.......
I drove the car briefly...maybe 5 miles....and started out with ice cold air...and soon it became hot. I pulled into the drive way, popped the hood, and noticed the clutch was NOT engaging. I then took a handle, and gently "bumped" it....and as soon as it re-engaged with the compressor....ice cold air again. I let it sit a few minutes, idling...and all was great. NOW THEN.....is that problem something that "re-shimming" the compressor will correct, or is there some sort of a "relay" (pardon my layman's terminology), or a fuse, or something else.....that I may need to check, or change out first? You guys are always a big help...and I appreciate your input! Thanks again!
