Default electrical; position indicator; gas gauge

2002 xc70

ok, i'm getting nervous here. my "bulb failure position indicator" warning has been coming on and off intermittently for some time but now it comes on and off every couple seconds. to compound the problem the gas gauge has also been going to empty and then back to normal every 10 minutes or so. the car has also been hesitant to start (turns over fine but won't catch) every once in a while. this pretty much all started happening at once after i replaced a headlight but would seem to be coincidence.i have checked and not found any offending tail lights. oh, and the rear wiper/washer either doesn't work or goes really slowly. i checked fuses, they're all good. ahhhhh. any help is appreciated (sorry if this has been addressed, i haven't found it on the forum). thanks in advance

Check the battery connections make sure all are tight.

I have seen loose connections cause this problem.

tech, you are awesome. this simple problem would have taken me much longer. the secondary wire off the battery somehow came loose. all is well for now. thanks
