Front End Clicking?

2001 XC70 makes a singular click on the driver's side going into reverse out of the garage...occasionally makes the same click when starting up from a full stop. Is this the infamous Volvo "axle ping" that I've read about?

mine did that when braking and a few new front suspension parts took it away
