Default Haldex Pump Replacement

Hello,

2007 XC70 that has never had AWD since purchased in 2021. Getting a faulty from pump read from my code reader and plan to replace it next week. I am a you tube mechanic and will be working under jack stands and such. How feasible is it to get this job done in two day time period?

I have replaced shocks, struts, radiators and drive axles on various vehicles but am not a pro by any means. Any hints I need ahead of time? I have watched FCP’s Haldex video.

Thanks to all!

Have you looked at xemodex for diagnostic suggestions? A common problem is when the pump goes bad - it fries the DEM. Might want to test for that first. (things get expensive replacing pump and DEM)

So I got all the wheels off the ground. First try at ignition and set in Drive, all wheels engaged to my surprise…but after shutting the car down and restarting only front wheels would move. I could rotate the rear wheels freely.

Does this seem like pump problems or electrical failure from module? Have not had the chance to go through the Haldex flow chart test as recommended yet.

Gave the exhaust nuts a good coating of cord and hoping they will release tomorrow…Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all!
