Manual Transmission

What years did they make the car with a manual transmission? Or did they?

I am not sure if any XC's came to the U.S. with manaul tranny's. But S70's and V70's did.

From what I understand the manual is a lazy issue.
But the Diesels is something about emissions standards or something like that.
