Default New Volvo XC 60 hesitation issue

Hi,

I just bought a new Volvo XC60 one week and a half ago. This is my first Volvo, and I feel that when I press on the accelerator hard (eg for a quick left turn in traffic) I feel that I hear a louder engine sound and the slightest of hesitations. what can it be? Any ideas? Thanks.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

What year model is your XC and how many miles do you have on it? Usually the main issues with preformance is related to the car's last tune up. Old worn our plugs, clogged air filters, torn vacuum lines, clogged fuel filter, wrong fuel octane, etc, will usually cause preformance issues.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply! The car is a 2012 XC-60 & had just 8 miles on it when I drove it off the lot. Currently it has 300 miles on it. The fuel is regular unleaded (87 octane I believe). Therefore it cannot be a maintenance issue. The engine is the regular V-6, not the turbo.

I would really appreciate any advice or insight into what might be going on.

Thanks!

Default XC60 acceleration hesitation

I have a brand new 2012 XC60. When the car is stopped and I press the gas, it very slowly accelerates and if then it jumps and goes the speed you would expect. It's like it catches and then goes. Kind of dangerous. Any suggestions? I took it to the dealership and they only suggested to put premium fuel in the car once a month...I don't see how that could help as it has done this since the day I bought it.

Both of you guys have new cars. Just drive them back to the dealer and tell them to fix it under your warranty. Then post back the solution they gave you. You likely have a idle control issue, when you switch from idle to accelerate control it hesitates.
