first off, Hi all. Looks to be a great forum with lots of info.
I'm looking at a 2000 XC70 with 150,000 miles on it. The interior is flawless. A couple of superficial marks on the exterior and faded black plastic. No big deal to me. The asking price is 10,900, which is in the range Im looking for.

What do I need to look into as far as service history for this car. Is it a zero clearance motor? (valves/pistons) If so, how often does the timing belt need to be changed? Any other major service items that should have been taken care of? Anything I should look out for or plan on doing in the near future?

I'm a competant shade tree mechanic whos rebuilt a few motors, rear ends, etc. along with doing all maintenance on my vehicles.

Let me know what Im in for if I buy this vehicle!!

For starters I don't know if the ETM issues were a problem in the 2000 model Volvo's. However I would ask if the ETM has been replaced and if so at what mileage it was replaced at.
