I currently own a Volvo 940 but I am considering to purchase a 1998-2004 C70 convertible. I would like to know if some years are better than others, if the HT is better and more reliable than the LT, and what to look for when going to see one. Are their any weaknesses or problem areas that I should be aware of when inspecting one. Thanks for any advise or suggestions.

Verify that the throttle body has been upgraded or replaced... there was a class action lawsuit over these which extended the warrenty to ten years from date of service. It is a $1200.00 to $1500.00 surprise. The throttle body problem manifests itself without setting the check engine light. Volvo failed to honor mine because by the time the dealer dicovered it I was a month out of warrenty even though I had be experincing all sorts of wierd problems most notibly hesitation at cruising speeds, and momentary sudden acceleration.
