My Mother just bought a 2007 XC70. The vehicle already had rear parking assist and she had front parking assist installed as well. The front parking assist beeps constanly below 10 MPH and doesn't beep when you approach an object and the rear beeps the whole time you are backing whether there is an object there or not.
Volvo is telling her this is correct...no way would anyone put up with constant loud beeping in their car.
Has anyone encountered this or know how to get around the Volvo dealership to fix it?

I have a 2006 XC70 but only with rear park assist. In operation it beeps only when close to objects - it does NOT beep constantly when reversing.
I agree that constant beeping is nonsense - I would test driveanother 2007 XC70 at the same Dealership and see what it does -even if it only has rear park assist I'm pretty sure it will work only on proximity. Then bring your complaint to them then.
Seems to me the Dealer has screwed up somewhere bigtime when fitting the front system...?
