I have 2004 XC70 with 240,000 miles, Kelly Blue Book is around $1,700. I have an estimate for repairs of around $2,800 from a reliable shop that I've used for years, they recommend not repairing it. I'm not going to fix it. The salvage value is $350 from the shop I called. I'm considering running an ad on Craigslist as a parts car disclosing everything it needs and hoping to get more. Any advice is appreciated, thanks.

 

you can post on the volvo classified board in this forum too. You may want to list whether it can be driven away and what needs to be repaired. Sounds like a "for repair/parts" - I'd think you can get more than $350 selling direct.

 

I find in my neighborhood (which isn't Volvo country) there are multiple people repairing these cars for a living. So CL wouldn't hurt.
