Default sluggish 2006 xc70

Bought a 2006 xc70 a year ago at 66,000 km now at 100,000 km and noticing some sluggish performance. Tried injector and fuel system cleaners and a new air filter. Helped a bit but something is missing from the performance when new.

Any suggestions?

Regards,

Bill

Thanks for the response.

Not throwing any codes and it is a turbo.

I have not yet replaced the plugs or wires. Do you think it might be a plugged fuel filter?

i would definitely check your plugs, fuel filter is possible, when is it sluggish? in boost or all the time? personally i dont think itd be your fuel filter. but wires and plugs would be a good possibility i would check plugs first since they are the cheapest to replace, also what kind of fuel do you run in it? have you tried doing the seafoam clean

91 Shelby,

Sluggish mostly in boost. It's when I notice it the most. I run regular fuel and I don't know what seafoam clean is.

I have run fuel system cleaner and injector cleaner a few times. Just the STP stuff in mixed in a tank of gas.

Thanks again for the help.

Regards,

seafoam is a cleaner you can run thru your intake to help clean out the cylinders and valves, how long have you been running regular? i would really check your plugs, specially if its in boost. i believe they recommend premium i dont put anything below midgrade in my 95 turbo wagon

Reading other threads, I think you're right about the plugs. One last question. Which plugs? OEM from the dealer or another kind?

You can't go wrong with oem plugs though I personally run the iridium plugs
