My 01 XC70 has had the transmission placed in the "learn" status two different times in the past 3 months. It shifts like brand new for a couple days and then resorts back to it's routine of hard shifting and knocking. Does anyone have any experience reloading the transmission software? I am not sure at this point why it will drive and shift almost perfectly and then lose it all for no apparent reason. We are considering reloading the transmission software next. It is apparent that it can be fixed because it shifts so well after clearing all the codes and "re-learning" to shift.

This car has 120k on it.

I never did get the codes. It is shifting like a champ again at the moment. It was put in "learn" about 4 days ago.

 

I am leaning toward software reload. Keep us updated.

 

Back on Vida again. SRS service urgent message on again. Engine light on and the trans is shifting hard and knocking again. Going to see if a software reload will cure the trans after we figure out which module keeps triggering the SRS message. Anyone have any experience on Vida who might have some ideas?
