Can anyone help me? When I lock my car thereis no visual signal that the alarm is armed ( tail lights flash) I do not have any warnings on the dash that there are doors open. Where do I turn next?

It is a 2004
It worked just fine and I do not know what I did but it doesn't work now. My friend has one the same year and his doesn't work now either ??

Open the hood and slam it ! re-try to activateit should work at times the hood latch switch is not catching properly...
