I've searched and searched and I can't find a thread or internet site that tells me what brand/model of coolant to use in a 2005 volvo XC70. I don't want to drive 50 miles to the volvo dealer to pay a ton for the volvo brand coolant- there must be a retail equivalent.

Anyone that knows for sure, please advise.

 

I had that question come up today. I went online and found that Pentasin G001100, which is available at most import parts stores + VW/Audi dealers, is the proper aftermarket product. Fortunately I had a couple of litres in the garage pre-mixed to 50:50. (I have 3 Audi's) I hope that helps.

I was once after a water pump change in a serious lack of coolant and bought an already mixed coolant from esso station. Worked perfect and after almost 2 years is still good...

May I suggest Xerex G05 at Napa stores.

 

Pentosin - pentofrost works fine, avail thru napa stores and can order online otherswise i think u can order thru fcpgroton.com or ipd

 

 

That Zerex stuff is what I used to top off the vehicle until I replaced the radiator recently. Had a slow leak somewhere for years and used this high-end fluid until a larger drip appeared in the driveway earlier this year!
