I just had the lower control arm and the axle replaced on the passenger side of my 1998 V70 CX.
After driving about 70 miles I started hearing a vibrating noise in the front passenger side, which goes away when I'm turning or making a curve.

Lifted the car up and there is play in the wheel -- it moves with the hub. I looked underneath, and the axle is staying stationary as the wheel hub moves.

I am wondering if the the person who fixed it (at a regional chain) messed something up... I couldn't unscrew one of the lug nuts (I bent the tool!!!) on my aluminum wheels.

Any thoughts?

 

Sounds like the axle nut wasn't torqued properly.
I have seen that many times.
