Default Air Pump

I had a service light on . My mechinact said it was a Secondary Air System Pump . Replacement around $500.00 He said O.K. to drive indifinitety. Any info on this would be helpful .[/align][/align]1998 v70 XC Turbo 120,000 mi. [:-][/align][/align]Thank You[/align][/align]Walter[/align]

You will be ok but the light will keep coming on.
It might affect cold start if you live in a cold climate.

You have to be careful. If the airpump fills up with water(and usually this happens) and you accelerate hard in the turbo cars it can possibly suck water into the airbox and then across your maf sensor. You will be able to tell because the car will loose power for a second as water runs across the maf. I have seen it happen a couple of times. As long as this is not happening you will not do any other damage.
