Xc70
Hi all I am hoping someone on here can give me some advise I have a 2005 volvo xc70 2.4 diesel. I was driving it the other day doing about 50-60 mph & it lost power dash light came on & the engine cut out. I pulled over & engine turned over fine, the timing belt is intact so that's not the problem. I have been in the motor trade for many yeaes but this is my first xc70 so don't no to much about them. I guessed it was a fuel issue even though it had half a tank of diesel in it. I didn't have away to check so called aa they put diagnostic scanner on it & it come back with low fuel pressure at rail. Is the fuel rail sensor a possible fault on these or is it more likely to be a pump issue & if it is pump does it also have an in tank pump as well as an high pressure pump.
Any help will be great

Late to the party.....
We don't get the diesels over here in No. America.
www.volvoforums.org.uk has a majority of UK members and many diesel owners.
I'd guess a 21 year old filter is clogged. How many miles on your 2005?
